Soak, sweat, steam and dream with us!

Culture of Bathing is a place for those already in love with bathing and for those who are just steam-curious.

At Culture of Bathing, we will write about the joys and complexities of the booming social bathing movement. We will go beyond the physical to think about the social, cultural and spiritual dimensions of bathing culture. We will explore all aspects of bathing from ancient rituals to contemporary practices, from personal experience to the politics of the bathhouse. More importantly, we want to hear from you and what interests you.

Culture of Bathing was started by three enthusiasts, Elena Morariu (a lover of social bathing who works for Therme on the arts & cultural side), Jane Withers (a London-based writer, curator and bathing obsessive), and Robert Hammond (co-founder of the High Line whose day job now is to open modern-day Roman Baths in the US for Therme Group)

Besides this newsletter, we will be staging occasional talks and gatherings.
